Lehigh suffers two more losses at Leadoff Classic

Junior Taryn Hanley led the way for the Mountain Hawks against Coastal Carolina, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBI. Hanley drove in Lehigh’s first run of the season with an RBI single in the first inning, which scored junior Kate Marvel. In the fifth inning, Hanley doubled to score freshman Lauren Eichblatt.
The Lady Chanticleers (3-9) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a two-run double from Kimberly Cillis.
Sophomore Lisa Sweeney went the first six-plus innings in the circle striking out eight, but left with the winning run on second base and one out. Freshman Tiffany Curtis came on, but issued a two out bases loaded walk to Kelsey Riffel to force in the winning run. Sweeney was charged with all three runs and falls to 0-2 on the season.

Curtis went the first five and a third innings in the circle, allowing nine runs on ten hits.
The Mountain Hawks will wrap up play at the NFCA Leadoff Classic with two more games on Sunday. Lehigh will take on DePaul at 9:00 am in the first game, and will play a second game at 11:00 am against either Seton Hall or Hofstra.
