Alumni event and scrimmage dates announced

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With classes set to begin soon and Lehigh ready to hit the practice fields and begin preparations for the 2007 season, head coach Chris Wakely has announced two events for the upcoming fall season. On Saturday, October 14, the Mountain Hawks will welcome St. John's and Villanova to town as part of a triple header scrimmage. One week later, on October 21, the Brown and White will hold its annual Alumni Game, which takes place at the Ulrich Sports Complex turf field beginning at 9:30 a.m. and is held in conjunction with young alumni reunion weekend.

Wakely offers his thoughts on the preseason schedule. “We’re excited to once again host these fall events. Our three-team scrimmage is always a nice test to see where we are at after having held practice for about a month at that point.” He continues, “Our alumni event was a big hit in 2005 with close to 70 former student-athletes and we had strong connections made with a few players receiving job interviews as a result, so I know the guys who are currently on the team will be looking forward to it. It’s always great when your current student-athletes have a chance to connect with those who came before them.”

Lehigh vs. Villanova 10:00 a.m.

Villanova vs. St. John's 12:00 p.m.

Friday, October 20:

4:30 – 5:30 – Lehigh Lacrosse practice (alums welcome to attend)

6:00 – 8:00 – 2006 Lehigh Lacrosse banquet (alums welcome to attend)

Saturday, October 21:

9:30 – 10:30 – Lehigh Lacrosse Alumni game

11:15 – 12:15 – Post game tailgate and alumni game awards

1:00 – Lehigh Football vs. Bucknell
