AMBLER,
Trailing 1-0 in the top of the second inning, Lehigh took the lead for the first time when back-to-back doubles from catcher Geoff Campbell and left fielder Kevin Gordon made the score 2-1 in favor of the Brown and White.
The see-saw affair continued an inning later, after the Owls knotted the score at 2-2 with an unearned run scored off starter Joel Hockman. In the third, Geiger singled home Nick Bet to put Lehigh back in front, 3-2.
The score remained tied at three until the home half of the sixth.
The Mountain Hawks got one back in the seventh, when Geiger tripled home first baseman Matt McBride. However, Lehigh could get no closer, and the Owls hung on for the win.
Lehigh returns home on Saturday, as the Mountain Hawks host Holy Cross in a four-game Patriot League series. The two teams will meet for a doubleheader on Saturday and another on Sunday, with first pitch of game one set for Noon EDT each day from Lehigh’s baseball field on the Goodman Campus. Lehigh Athletics will broadcast the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader live on the Lehigh web site at Lehighsports.com, with streaming provided by Yahoo! Sports.
