BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After helping to lead Lehigh to an impressive 7-5 victory over No. 19 Bucknell on Saturday afternoon, sophomore goal keeper John Park was honored as the Patriot League’s Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Park stopped seven Bison shots in the contest, including four during the decisive fourth quarter to earn his first career award from the league.
Park, who also scooped up three ground balls against Bucknell, has posted a .567 save percentage in 471 minutes of action this season. The Pennsylvania native has recorded 59 saves and is allowing only 5.72 goals per game, which places him second among all Patriot League net minders. Park has made five or more saves in a game six times this season, and has accounted for all six of the Brown and White’s victories.
Park and his Mountain Hawk teammates return to action on Saturday, April 8 when they travel to Hamilton, New York for a crucial league matchup with Colgate. Game time is scheduled for 3:00.
