Lucas helps lead South to victory in All-Star Classic

Cortland, NY – Andrew Lucas participated in the 2005 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I Men’s Lacrosse North-South All-Star Classic on Saturday evening on the campus of SUNY-Cortland in the Cortland Stadium Complex. Lucas scored one goal in helping lead the South to a 14-11 victory. Lucas, who started at attack for the South, scored an unassisted goal with 2:11 remaining in the game, to seal the victory. The Baldwin , New York native also scooped up three ground balls and took four shots.
Bucknell’s Chris Cara was named the game’s MVP after scoring an incredible six goals in the contest. The South was out shot 50-47 on the night, but did manage to scoop up 39 ground balls to the North’s 38.
Lucas recently put the finishing touches on a brilliant career at Lehigh, where he finished with 110 goals, 126 points and 112 ground balls. Lucas was one of only eleven players in Patriot League history to have scored 100 career goals, including 35 as a senior. Lucas was a two-time All-Patriot League selection and a two-time captain for the Mountain Hawks.
