BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior captain
Andrew Lucas has been invited to this year’s Warrior Major League Challenge at
Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT on June 1. This annual event recognizes the top 40 senior lacrosse players across all divisions of NCAA Lacrosse, and is comprised of several events throughout the day. In the morning, there will be player physicals, followed by league administration and policy review, and finally team interviews. The afternoon session will consist of practice and situational play periods, and in the evening, an exhibition game will take place beginning at 5:00 under current Major League Lacrosse (MLL) rules, as the 40 players are divided into two teams.
Following the exhibition contest, the fifth annual Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft will be held at the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University. Any player selected in the Senior Collegiate Draft will be placed on the selecting team’s “Collegiate Inactive Roster.” Tickets for the day are available for only five dollars each at www.majorleaguelacrosse.com or by calling 1-866-MLL-TIXX.
Lucas recently put the finishing touches on a brilliant career at Lehigh, where he finished with 110 goals, 126 points and 112 ground balls. Lucas was one of only eleven players in Patriot League history to have scored 100 career goals, including 35 as a senior. Lucas was a two-time All-Patriot League selection and a two-time captain for the Mountain Hawks.
