Princess Anne, MD – Lehigh remained perfect on the season on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader at Maryland-Eastern Shore.  The Mountain Hawks got it done both ways, winning the first game 5-1 with great pitching from Adam Marr, then pounded the Hawks in the second game for eleven runs, winning 11-4.

In the first game, Marr shut down the Hawks hitters, pitching seven innings and allowing only 5 hits and one run (unearned).  In moving his record to 2-0 on the season, he showed pinpoint control striking out 10 and walking only one. Matt McBride was the hitting star for Lehigh, going 2-4 in the game with an RBI and a run scored. Eric Hoffman was 0-1, but walked twice and drove in two runs to help the cause.

The Lehigh hitters came out hot in the second game as well, as Hoffman was hot again.  He went 2-4 in the game, scoring three runs while driving in a run. Jesse Novalis was 1-3 with 2 runs and an RBI, while John Zaszewski was a perfect 3-3 with 2 RBIS and a run.  Joe Raniszewski took the win for the Mountain Hawks, pitching 5 innings and giving up 1 earned run on five hits.  Raniszewski also walked one and struck out two.

Lehigh returns to action next Wednesday, as they look for their seventh straight win to start the season.  The Mountain Hawks will travel to Dover to take on Delaware State. The game is set for a 2:30pm start.
