Mountain Hawks take a chance to give back

Head Coach Chris Wakely is very excited about the way his team has come together for such a great cause and done everything they can to help out. “This is the teams’ reaction to cancer, which has touched the Lehigh lacrosse family in recent years,” explains Wakely. “The team decided to do more than just send out their condolences and they did just that. Our guys went above and beyond to get more involved and it’s great to see them put their interests aside and help out others.”
Many members of the Lehigh lacrosse team also participated in the “Adopt a Family” program, held once a year during the holiday season, in which each Lehigh athletics team sponsors one family and buys gifts for that family in addition to spending time with their new adopted family. The Mountain Hawks are certainly busy now-a-days, making strides on the playing field, while helping to change the lives of others off of it.
Wakely concludes, “In a society that tends to emphasize an individuals needs, above those of others, it is personally rewarding for me to be involved with young men the likes of Mike McConnell, Kevin Donlan, Tom Ellis and Robbie Walsh. All of them made immeasurable impacts on the lives of others.”
