Gabal named as newest member of "44 Club"

Carpenter left Lehigh as just the second Academic All-American in school history, joining Rabinovitz as the only two players on that list. Carpenter was also a standout player on the field for the Mountain Hawks, having earned All-Patriot League status in both 2002 and 2003 and a selection to the North-South All-Star Classic in ’02 and was also a two time Lehigh Coaches Award winner. Carpenter is currently pursuing his master’s degree in education from Lehigh, serving as the administrative assistant for Coach Wakely and his staff.
Baran, who was the starting man-down defenseman for Lehigh, earned a grade point average of 3.9 in Lehigh’s highly difficult Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) program and is currently working in Memphis for Ingersoll Rand.
As for the newest position in the club, Gabal has been a four-year starter for Lehigh at the defensive midfield and also played the wing on the face-offs unit and is a member of the man down unit. Gabal, who is among the team’s fastest athletes, a very gritty competitor and one of the captains for this season, carries a 3.00 grade point average in finance. He studied abroad last fall in Paris at Sorbonne University where he studied French language and grammar, as well as European society and culture, art history and architecture. Gabal served as an intern for the Constitution Capital Corporation in Westport, Connecticut during the summer of 2004 where he did various work with investments and financial data.
