Bethlehem, PA – Three members of the men’s lacrosse team were recently honored with the team’s postseason awards.

Senior goalkeeper Bill Guglielmo was named the team’s Scholar-Athlete, which goes to the student-athlete who in the eyes of his/her teammates exemplifies the ideal of the scholar-athlete. A dean’s list student, he has a 3.82 GPA in mechanical engineering. Guglielmo appeared in five games in 2003, starting the final two contests.

Senior defender Scott Carpenter received the Coaches Award, presented to the individual who made significant contributions to the well being of the team in terms of attitude, improvement, or special leadership. Carpenter was the Mountain Hawks co-captain and the only member of the team named to the Patriot League first team.

The Athlete of the Year Award, awarded to the team member who makes the most outstanding athletic contribution to the accomplishments of the team, was given to senior attacker Tony Lowe. Lowe finished atop the nation’s scoring charts in goals and goals per game. He also served as a co-captain, alongside Carpenter.

The three award winners and Grant Wasch all depart as graduating seniors, but the rest of the 2003 edition of the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team returns to improve upon last season’s 5-9 finish.
