Bethlehem, PA – Seniors Scott Carpenter and Tony Lowe were named to the 2003 All-Patriot League squad, which was announced on Tuesday. Carpenter earned a spot on the first team, while Lowe was selected to the second team. "Scott and Tony had tremendous seasons," head coach Chris Wakely said. "The were well-deserving of their positions as captains, and their full impact will certainly be missed." Carpenter spearheaded the Lehigh defense all season, leading the team in ground balls with 79. That total put him among both the league and national leaders in that category. Carpenter was an all-league selection last season as well. "Scott played extremely well this season," observed Wakely. "He always drew the toughest defensive match up and it was a pleasure to coach him." Lowe, who led the nation in goals scored and goals per game, was selected to the second team. The attacker, who has ten more goals this season than any other player in the league, also is the only player in the nation to score seven goals on more than one occasion this season. He is making his first appearance on the all-league squad. "Tony was constantly double and triple teamed and still managed to finish among the national scoring leaders," Wakely noted. The Mountain Hawks finished their season with a record of 5-9 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League.
