Lehigh squaring off with rival Lafayette

Bethlehem, PA – Rival Lafayette visits Lehigh on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks look for their second league victory of the season. Entering the contest, Lehigh is 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the Patriot League.
     

Senior Tony Lowe leads the Lehigh attack and is coming off the most prolific scoring game in the Patriot League this season. Lowe lit up Penn for seven goals (on seven shots) and nine points, both of which are league highs in 2003. The senior attacker leads the squad and the league with 32 goals and 39 points. Sophomore Greg Morin ranks 14th in the NCAA in assists per game with 1.90. Sophomore Andrew Lucas is third on Lehigh with 21 points, and is second to Lowe with 20 goals scored.
     

Senior defender Scott Carpenter leads the Lehigh defense and is 15th in the nation in ground balls per game. After Carpenter, six Mountain Hawks are bunched between 21 and 36 ground balls. Sophomore Tom Ellis has started all 12 games in goal for Lehigh with marks of 11.52 goals against and a .516 save percentage.
     

Lafayette comes into the game with a 1-9 overall mark and 0-4 record in the Patriot League. Pat Lennon has accounted for 24 of the Leopards 59 goals and is also the only Leopard in double digits. Drew Weisman leads the team with ten assists. Five Lafayette players have between 19 and 21 ground balls. Michael Koch and Kevin DeVito have split time in goal for the Leopards. Koch leads the team with a 9.09 GAA and a save percentage of .582.
