Mountain Hawks prepare for Colgate

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh will try to climb up the Patriot League standings when Colgate visits the Ulrich Sports Complex on Saturday night. The Mountain Hawks currently sit at 4-6 overall and 1-2 in the league. The Raiders have a similar overall record at 4-5, but are 2-1 in league action.
     

Senior Tony Lowe and sophomore Andrew Lucas, the Patriot League’s second and third leading goal scorers, lead the Mountain Hawk offense. Lowe is the team leader in both goals and points with 23 and 27, respectively. Right behind him is Lucas, who is second on the squad with 20 goals and third with 24 points. Setting them up is sophomore Greg Morin, Lehigh’s second leading scorer with 26 points. He currently sits third in the league with 19 assists.
     

On the defensive end, senior captain Scott Carpenter leads the Mountain Hawks’ defense with 53 ground balls. Five other Lehigh players have at least 20 ground balls. Sophomore Tom Ellis has started all ten games in goal for Lehigh, accumulating a .537 save percentage and an 11.11 goals against average. Ellis is coming off a career high 19 saves in Lehigh’s last contest, against Yale.
     

Jason Vasas is Colgate’s top offensive threat, with team highs of 17 goals and 24 points. The trio of Scott Herbst, Nick Gerken, and Peter Watts is tied for second on the Raiders with 18 points. Herbst’s 11 assists lead the Raiders. Greg Berube has 35 ground balls to pace Colgate, trailed closely by Reid Diamond’s 32. In goal for the Raiders, Andrew Jarolimek has allowed just 8.41 goals against to go along with a .569 save percentage.
     

The two teams will face off under the lights at the Ulrich Sports Complex, with game time set for 7:00. The game will be broadcast live on the Lehigh website at www.lehigh.edu.
