West Point, NY – Sophomores Andrew Lucas and Mike McConnell scored three goals each, but it was not enough as Lehigh (4-5, 1-2 Patriot League) lost a high scoring duel with Patriot League foe Army (4-4, 2-0 Patriot League), 17-14 on Tuesday evening. Lehigh came out strong, taking a 5-3 lead on sophomore Greg Morin’s second goal of the game. The Black Knights would battle back, however, scoring the eight of the game’s next 11 goals, including a 6-2 advantage in the second period. Lehigh would break that run, scoring five of the next six goals, fueled by all three of McConnell’s scores. The comeback bid would fall short as Army outscored Lehigh 4-3 in the final period to hold on for the 17-14 win. Morin added an assist to his pair of goals for three points on the evening. Also scoring twice with an assist was senior Tony Lowe. Sophomore Tom Ellis made 14 saves in the loss. The Mountain Hawks stayed in the game despite being outshot 50-27 by the Black Knights and winning only five of 35 face offs. The Mountain Hawks were aided by a 2-4 effort on extra man opportunities, while thwarting both Army chances. John Ryan scored five times for Army. Jeff Bryan had six points from one goal and five assists. Also scoring multiple times for the Black Knights were Jim Wagner, Chris Woods, and John Walker. Lehigh looks to climb back to .500 when it travels to Yale for a 1:00 contest on Saturday. Scoring
