In the summer of 2006, Fugett led the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League in appearances as he played for the Kitsap Bluejackets. The summer before, in 2005, Fugett pitched for the Kutztown Rockies in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League where he was one of the league's best relief pitchers and a member of the league's All-Star Team.
