John Manos is in his second season as Lehigh's head women's golf coach and first in his new role as Director of Golf. In his new role, Manos will direct all aspects of program operations, management and student-athlete development for both programs, while continuing to serve as Head Women’s Golf Coach. He will also oversee the Mulvihill Golf Learning Center. Manos was hired in July 2024 after three successful seasons leading both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Drew University in Madison, N.J.
As Director of Golf, Manos will play a larger role in regards to recruiting strategy, scheduling, budget management and alumni relations for both the men's and women's programs. He will also continue to manage Lehigh’s relationships with Saucon Valley Country Club, the Steel Club and Trump National Golf Club.
Manos' first season at Lehigh was highlighted by top-three finishes in all four of the Mountain Hawks' fall tournaments. Lehigh hosted the Patriot League Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club and had a pair of All-Patriot League honorees with Stefania Fedun making the first team and Yuki Zhu earning a spot on the second team.
In his first season at Drew, Manos led both Ranger programs to Landmark Conference titles and NCAA Championship appearances. He was named Landmark Conference Coach of the Year for both the men and women. Manos’ Drew teams garnered second place conference finishes for both genders in each of the last two seasons.
On the women’s side, Manos mentored Kayla Diaz to three consecutive first team All-Landmark Conference accolades. Diaz was also the conference Player and Rookie of the Year in 2022 and went on to finish 17th at the NCAA Championship.
In addition to the 2022 Landmark Conference championship, Manos’ time leading the men’s squad was highlighted by Elliot Parker, who earned back-to-back All-America honors to become Drew’s first All-American in men’s golf. Parker was the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year in 2023 and qualified for the NCAA Championships as an individual this past spring.
Prior to his time at Drew, Manos was the head men’s golf coach at Rosemont College in Rosemont, Pa. In six seasons, Manos led Rosemont to three Colonial States Athletic Conference championships and three NCAA Championship appearances in his final three seasons. He was also named CSAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2021.
At Rosemont, Manos’ men’s team received the Mark Laesch Award in 2016-17 as the most improved team in all of Division III. Throughout his time with the Ravens, Manos mentored 20 All-CSAC selections, three All-Mid-Atlantic Region honorees, the first All-American in program history and five GCAA All-America Scholars.
"We're very excited to welcome John to our staff as our next head women's golf coach,” said Sue Troyan, Lehigh’s Deputy Director of Athletics. “In John, we have a head coach who brings a number of years of coaching experience and success at the collegiate level. John has shown the ability to build highly successful collegiate golf programs through strong recruiting and player development efforts while demonstrating an ability to connect with and motivate student-athletes to bring out their best. We're excited to have him join our program"
In addition to his coaching experience, Manos served as the Director of Course Rating for the Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) from 2014-21. Manos serviced and managed accounts of more than 290 member clubs in all areas of member services and was responsible for the recruitment, retention and training of all course raters. He helped expand the GAP Member Play Day Program from 12 to 30 annual events and generated over $100,000 in new revenue by creating the GAP Architect Event Series.
A native of Mount Olive, N.J., Manos played golf at Centenary University and was a three-time team MVP from 2009-11. Manos graduated from Centenary in 2012 with a degree in business administration and marketing and later added a master’s in sports management from Columbia.
