2015 (SENIOR SEASON)
Led the team with 824 assists, good for an average of 8.86 assists per set…wrapped up her career in the Brown and White with 3,326 assists, good for third most in program history…named one of the final 30 candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award…averaged 9.64 assists per set in Patriot League play, which ranked third in the league…recorded a double-double against Saint Francis (8/28)…recorded 44 assists and seven kills in a 3-1 win over Navy (9/26)…named the team’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the end-of-year banquet…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2014 (JUNIOR SEASON)
Named first team All-Patriot League following standout junior season…tallied 1,085 assists, good for an average of 9.86 that ranked second-best in the Patriot League…recorded an average of 10.14 assists per set during league play to help Lehigh to a program-record 14 Patriot League wins and a trip to the Patriot League Championship…registered 16 double-doubles throughout the season to go along with 81 kills and 23 total blocks…dished a career-best 59 assists in a five-set win at Holy Cross (10/25)… earned two Patriot League Player of the Week awards (9/29 and 10/27)…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2013 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Led the team in assists with 979, which ranks tenth all-time on Lehigh’s single season records list…averaged 9.15 assists per set, good for fourth best in the Patriot League…recorded at least 20 assists in all 29 matches she played in…tallied a career-high 54 assists in a five-set victory over Army, Lehigh’s first win over the Black Knights in ten years…was named Patriot League Player of the Week following her impressive performances against Army and Holy Cross…ranked second on the team in service aces (31), third on the team in digs (220) and fourth in total blocks (30)…also contributed 74 kills and tallied a .237 attack percentage...earned the team’s Coaches Award at the end-of-season banquet…named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2012 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Finished second on the team with 438 assists…Registered 152 digs on the year…Played in 93 sets throughout the season…Had 26 assists in her first collegiate match against Rider…Dug a season-high 17 attacks vs. Delaware…Recorded 24 assists against Rutgers…Had 25 assists in the five-set victory at American, the first time Lehigh has ever beaten the Eagles in Washington, D.C….Had 24 assists at Bucknell before collecting 25 in a four-set victory at Colgate, handing the Raiders their first Patriot League loss of the season snapping an eight-match winning streak against League opponents…Tied her season and career-high with 26 assists and registered 11 digs against Holy Cross…Had 14 assists and three digs in the Patriot League Tournament semifinal match at top-seeded Colgate...Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
BEFORE LEHIGH
Matula got an early start to her high school volleyball career, beginning in eighth grade. The five-year starter led her St. George’s High School team in Memphis, Tennessee to two Division II-A State
Championships and was the State Tournament MVP her senior year. The All-State Team selection was a 2011 Best of Preps Finalist and named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team. In 2010, she was named to the West Region All-Tournament Team, the Best of the Preps Private School Team, and also was the first St. George’s volleyball player to be awarded the 2010 Commercial Appeal Player of the Week honor. As a freshman and sophomore, Matula was named the team MVP along with being selected to the All-Region Team. In her first year on the varsity team as an eighth grader, Matula was named to the 2007 All-State Tournament Team and was recognized with the 2007 Varsity Best Offensive Player award. In the classroom, Matula has excelled as a member of the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (National Mathematics Honor Society) and was named to the St. George’s Scholar’s List for earning A’s in every class, while also receiving the Probitas Award for Service.
