First-Year Hall Leads Lehigh At Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Lehigh women's golf team closed out the Rutgers Invitational with another round of 317 Sunday on the Rutgers University Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks finished the two-day, 54-hole event at 966 (332-317-317), to finish 15th out of 17 teams.

First-year Alana Hall led the Mountain Hawks, tying for 29th place at 232 (80-77-75). Hall's final round 75 matched classmate Reese Hannon's second-round score for the low round of the tournament for Lehigh. Hall carded three birdies in her final round.

Senior Madison Pineda tied for 56th place at 242 (81-79-82).

Hannon closed her tournament with an 84 Sunday and tied for 66th place at 247 (88-75-84). She made one birdie in her final round.

Sophomore Bella Scanapicco finished the tournament at 264 (83-86-95) and tied for 84th place.

After missing Saturday's action, junior Yuki Zhu returned Sunday and contributed to Lehigh's team total with a round of 76 that included one birdie.

Host Rutgers dominated its home tournament, with the Scarlet Knights boasting the top four individuals on the way to a team title. Rutgers finished at 881 (298-293-290), defeating runner-up Seton Hall by 30 strokes.

The individual medalist was Emily James of Rutgers at six over par 219 (71-75-73).

Lehigh will return to action when the Mountain Hawks host the Patriot League Championship on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club April 18-20.
