Three Event Wins, Three Top 10 Additions For Men In Three Meet Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team completed a three-meet weekend Sunday evening with the completion of the Bison Outdoor Classic at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. The Mountain Hawks also had athletes competing in the decathlon at the River Hawk Multi and Invite Thursday and Friday at Susquehanna and the three-day TCNJ Invite and Multi in Ewing, N.J.

Lehigh athletes delivered three event wins over the three-meet weekend with three new top 10 marks established.

BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC
Throws
The Mountain Hawks had two big performances in Sunday's javelin. Junior Wil Jaques won the event with a throw of 68.23m to improve on his second all-time mark. After moving into eighth place all-time Thursday at TCNJ, first-year Harry Keen threw 60.29 to finish third and move into seventh place all time at Lehigh.

Senior Liam Lovering competed in the discus, hammer throw and shot put. He finished 17th in the shot put (15.27m), 19th in the discus (44.92m) and 21st in the hammer throw (50.31m).

Jumps
Senior Skyler Mott cleared 2.03m to tie for second place in the invitational high jump. First-year Jaden Ferguson finished fourth in the open high jump, clearing 1.93m.

In the pole vault, sophomore Eli Johnson and first-year Sayyidakbar Akbarov both posted PRs, clearing 4.41m. Johnson finished fifth while Akbarov took seventh place.

Sprints/Hurdles
First-year Jaden Green led Lehigh in the 100m, running 10.83 to move into a tie for seventh place all-time. Classmate Tyler VerSchure posted a PR with a time of 11.23.

First-year Quinten Slaughter led the Mountain Hawks in the 200m (22.28), while senior Patrez Thomas (50.16) led four Lehigh runners in the 400m.

Senior Johnathan Bennett finished 11th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.80. Sophomore Aidan DiBuono competed in the 400 hurdles, clocking in at 56.17 seconds.

Mid-Distance/Distance
First-year Ben Connell closed out the weekend with a fourth place finish in the 3000m, leading four Lehigh runners with a time of 8:34.60. In the mile, first-year Isaac Greene took fifth place with a time of 4:21.20. Sophomore Ryan Baker's 14:39.29 led the Mountain Hawks in the 5000m and sophomore Dylan Cunningham ran the 10,000m finishing 19th with a time of 31:23.17.

First-year Ian Zalewski posted a PR of 3:53.59 in the 1500 invitational. Junior Adam Barbato finished 14th in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:17.70. Senior Ethan Hood led four Lehigh runners in the 800m with a time of 1:56.96.

TCNJ INVITE AND MULTI
Lehigh action at TCNJ kicked off Thursday with the javelin. Keen won the event with a throw of 60.09m to move into eighth place all-time, before bettering that mark Sunday at Bucknell. Senior Hunter Rodarmel finished third with a throw of 54.72m and first-year Aaron Lee set a PR with a throw of 53.89m to finish fourth.

On Friday, first-year Sam Maloof led five Lehigh throwers in the hammer, finishing fifth with a throw of 44.60m.

Junior Nick Rossi picked up a win in the high jump, clearing 1.89m. Senior Jordan Layos led Lehigh in the long jump (6.11m), finishing ninth, and the triple jump (13.58m) claiming third place. Junior Daniel Givens was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher in both events.

In the shot put, first-year Aaron Humes finished 12th with a throw of 12.31m. First-year Josh Porter's throw of 12.18m was a PR. In the discus, first-year Adam Klinge finished sixth with a throw of 39.93m, while Humes threw 33.21.

RIVER HAWK MULTI AND INVITE
Lehigh had three decathletes at Susquehanna's meet. Senior Gideon Coprivnicar finished ninth in the Maroon Decathlon with 6194 points. He posted PRs in the shot put (10.81m) and the 400m (42.96). Sophomore Andrew Clark finished 11th in the Maroon with 6010 points. Clark claimed four PRs: the 100m (11.58), 400m (51.42), discus (29.51m) and javelin (41.70m).

First-year Neves Hoose finished seventh in the Orange Decathlon with 5080 points. Hoose secured PRs in the 100H (16.20) and the discus (29.53).

Another multi-meet weekend awaits the Mountain Hawks next weekend with the squad split between the Virginia Challenge and Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational.
