Lehigh Adds Five Newcomers On National Signing Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Kevin Cahill has announced the addition of five student-athletes to the Mountain Hawks' program on Wednesday's National Signing Day. The newcomers join a group of six student-athletes that signed during the early signing period in December.
Wednesday's additions include three signees, increasing the current size of Lehigh's class of 2029 to nine members, and a pair of transfer student-athletes.
"We are thrilled with the addition of these student-athletes to #TheNest," said Cahill. "We were strategic in who we were looking for and are excited to land these student-athletes. These players we have signed, and will continue to sign, will be the best fits for Lehigh football and the best fits for Lehigh University. We were able to address some of our needs and create more depth in key areas. We're also excited to see this list grow in the coming days."
The incoming first-year signees are defensive end Lucas Manderbach from Aurora, Ohio; cornerback Jarrod Penright Jr. from Klein, Texas; and offensive lineman Tolu (TJ) Akinyelu from Charlotte, N.C.
Lehigh has also added two transfer offensive linemen, who came to Bethlehem at the start of the spring semester. Spencer Dow comes to Lehigh from Park Ridge, Ill., by way of Old Dominion and Giacomo (Jake) Macce hails from Morristown, N.J. and spent the fall semester at Duke.
The defending Patriot League champion Mountain Hawks are in the midst of winter workouts and will begin their spring practice segment in mid-March.
