Lehigh Wraps Up Indoor Regular Season At Bucknell Tune Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh men's track and field took part in one final meet on Friday evening at the Bucknell Tune Up prior to next weekend's Patriot League Championships. The Mountain Hawks competed against the likes of Bloomsburg, Bucknell, East Stroudsburg, GPTC, Lafayette, Muhlenberg, Shippensburg, Susquehanna and York at the event.

JUMPS
Senior Jordan Layos had a fantastic showing in the triple jump, claiming second place with a jump of 13.95m. Junior Daniel Givens took fifth at 13.67m while first-year Jacob Chernin finished tenth at 11.60m.
Finishing first for Lehigh in the pole vault was first-year Sayyidakbar Akbarov in ninth place with a jump of 4.30m. He was followed by senior Jack Murphy in tenth at 4.30m.
First-year Neves Hoose was the top performer for Lehigh in the long jump, coming in eighth place at 6.10m. Givens (5.81m, 10th) and Chernin (5.81m, 11th) also jumped for Lehigh.
First-year Nick Bressi recorded a new PR in the high jump, claiming third at 1.87m. First-year Tyler VerSchure grabbed seventh to tie his PR of 1.72m while Hoose also recorded a jump of 1.72m to take ninth.

MID-DISTANCE
Sophomore Thomas Smigo and first-year Isaac Greene ran the one-mile race, with Smigo taking sixth at 4:23.75. In his first time running in the event, Greene took seventh with a time of 4:25.45.
First-year Peter Priestner placed second in the 800m with a PR of 1:56.51. Sophomore Aidan LaTourette finished in fourth place with a PR of 1:57.88.
Six Mountain Hawks ran in the 3k race for Lehigh. Junior Adam Barbato led the way with a sixth-place finish in 8:44.52. He was followed by junior Henry Burd (8:49.69, 8th), junior Max Leffler (8:57.99, 10th), first-year Will Mrozinski (8:58.67, 11th), sophomore Derek Coceano (PR 9:04.70, 12th) and junior Connor Malinger (9:05.11, 13th).
SPRINTS/HURDLES
Senior Jonathan Bennett, sophomore Andrew Clark and VerSchure competed in the 60m hurdles prelims for Lehigh. Bennett qualified for the finals with a second-place finish at 8.46. Clark took 13th at 9.00 and VerSchure recorded a new PR of 9.73 to take 17th.
Sophomore David Sedrak tallied a new PR of 51.97 in the 400m to take seventh place. Sophomore Aidan Dibuono finished shortly behind him in eighth with a PR of 52.25. Sophomore Gabriel Mays-Sanchez finished 16th at 53.31.
In the 60m hurdles finals, Bennett placed second with a time of 8.23.
First-year Jaden Green placed eighth in the 60m prelims with a time of 7.08.
In his first time running the event, Green took 12th place in the 200m at 23.30. First-year Austin Iburg took 16th with a time of 23.59 while Dibuono took 27th at 24.37.

Senior Liam Lovering took eighth place in the shot put with a toss of 15.88m. He was followed by first-year Joshua Porter (12.48m, 23rd) and first-year Aaron Humes (11.69m, 25th).
Lovering also led the way for the Mountain Hawks in the weight throw, finishing fourth with a throw of 17.44m. Senior Ethan McHugh took tenth in the event at 14.28m. Humes and Porter both set PRs, finishing 11th at 14.22m and 15th at 13.34m respectively. Junior Sharan Shankar finished in 12th place at 13.92m while first-year Adam Klinge finished 21st at 11.33m.

The men will compete at the Patriot League Championships on Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2 from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
