Lehigh Returns To Stabler Arena To Host LIU On Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball is back at Stabler Arena on Saturday evening to host the LIU Sharks at 5 p.m. The game was moved from 2 p.m. back to 5 p.m. to accommodate Lehigh's FCS playoff game being played at Goodman Stadium at 12 p.m.

Lehigh holds a 3-2 record against LIU all-time, which includes games before LIU Brooklyn and LIU Post combined their athletic programs in 2019. The Mountain Hawks and Sharks faced off last season in Brooklyn, which Lehigh won 60-59.

Lehigh played its fourth consecutive contest away from Stabler Arena on Tuesday evening, falling to the Binghamton Bearcats 80-71 in overtime. Joshua Ingram starred for Lehigh, scoring a career-high 25 points with six rebounds, four threes, a block and a steal. Nasir Whitlock reached 20+ points for the third consecutive game, scoring 21 points with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Caleb Thomas added nine points and two assists while Peter Kramer chipped in five points and a career-high six rebounds. Alvey finished the night with five points while Andrew Urosevic (4p) and Tommy Conniff (2p) also scored for the Mountain Hawks.

LIU enters Saturday's contest with a 4-4 record, most recently falling on the road at Winthrop 94-92 in overtime. The Sharks are led by head coach Rod Strickland, the former All-NBA point guard who is in his fourth season at the helm of the program. Three Sharks average 10+ points per game, led by Jamal Fuller (15.0), Greg Gordon (14.5), and Malachi Davis (13.6).

Following Saturday's game, Lehigh will take a 12-day hiatus for finals week before hosting Penn State Hazleton on Thursday, December 18 at 7 p.m.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and will be available on Fox Sports 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
