Lehigh Visits Lock Haven Sunday For First Varsity Dual

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's wrestling will compete in its first dual meet as a varsity program Sunday, when the Mountain Hawks visit Lock Haven. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from Thomas Fieldhouse with broadcast coverage on the PSAC Digital Network.
 
The Mountain Hawks' varsity debut came at the Nov. 2 East Stroudsburg Open with 18 wrestlers in action, highlighted by first-year Abbi Cooper winning the title at 117.
 
Lehigh had six other place winners at ESU with Kryssceah Ravenelle (138) and Genevieve An (180) claiming runner up finishes. Morgan Edwards (138) and Alexa Ciliotta (124) finished third in their respective weight classes, while Mary Manis (138) and Cameron Millsapps (160) finished fourth.
 
Last week, Lehigh had nine entrants at the Bill Farrell Memorial International in New York City. First-year Aubre Krazer won the 59 kg title and went on to be named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.

Lock Haven won its dual opener at Ursinus Thursday night by a 26-18 score. The Bald Eagles have also competed at the Princeton Open and the Adrian Open. Presley McCandlish won the title at 160 for Lock Haven at Princeton.
 
Next weekend, Lehigh compete at the Warrior Dual Tournament, Nov. 23 at East Stroudsburg. The Mountain Hawks will also send a contingent to the Missouri Valley Open, Nov. 21-22.
 
There has also been a schedule adjustment to Lehigh's first home event on Thursday, Dec. 4 The tri-meet will now begin with Lehigh hosting Delaware State at 4 p.m. East Stroudsburg and Delaware State will wrestle at 5:30 p.m. and then the Mountain Hawks and ESU will wrestle in the third match at 7 p.m.
