Men's Cross Country Heads To Easton For Rivalry Meet With Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's cross country team is set to compete in its third race of the season on Saturday, this one being the annual Lehigh vs. Lafayette rivalry dual meet. The Mountain Hawks and Leopards will square off at 10:45 a.m. in Easton as Lehigh hopes to make it 25 wins in a row over their rivals.
In 2023, Lehigh set the all-time record between the two schools at 63-33-1 after defeating Lafayette for the 24th consecutive year. The Mountain Hawks won by a score of 18-41 while placing seven runners in the top ten. Aidan Lynch finished the 8K race in first place overall with a time of 24:52.91, with Kevin Harvey finishing close behind in second (24:56.62).
The Mountain Hawks opened the 2024 season in their own backyard at the Lehigh Invite 6K on August 30, hosted on Lehigh's Goodman Campus. Lehigh took second place overall and enjoyed solid performances from Lynch (3rd, 18:40.2), Ryan Baker (4th, 18:40.8) and Harvey (6th, 18:43.0).
Lehigh most recently competed at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe 5.2-mile race at Penn State University on September 13. The Mountain Hawks took 16th place in a pool of 18 teams. Lehigh's top finishers once again included Harvey (45th, 25:56.9), Lynch (68th, 26:11.0) and Baker (89th, 26:26.7).
