Lehigh Defeats Lafayette for the 27th Straight Time

EASTON, Pa. - Lehigh defeated Lafayette for the 27th straight time Friday evening, scoring a perfect 15 points to Lafayette's 44.Â
In the 8K, first-year Jason Baker was the first Mountain Hawk to finish, winning the race with a time of 25:04.2, collecting his first career win. Junior Will Mrozinski was the next Mountain Hawk to finish, placing second overall with a time of 25:05.5. Senior Ryan Baker was the third finisher for Lehigh, placing third overall with a time of 25:06.0.Â
Junior Isaac Greene was the fourth finisher for Lehigh, placing fourth overall with a time of 25:20.4. Sawyer Macy finished with a time of 25:28.3, helping Lehigh secure the perfect score of 15.Â
"This was a race I am very proud of. We talked about running as a pack, being controlled and disciplined, and running as a full team instead of as individuals. We wanted to focus on running together as a team, and I thought the men did a good job of sticking together, racing with poise and discipline, and sharing the racing effort to secure the team victory," said head coach Debbie Utesch.
"Sawyer Macy did a great job getting to the Lafayette runner over the last 1,000 meters to secure the perfect 15-point sweep. Congratulations to the top three for controlling the race up front. Thanks to all the track and field teams and some of the members of the Lehigh community who made the trek to Easton today," said Utesch.
