BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Fran Troyan has announced a pair of additions to the Mountain Hawks' coaching staff for the 2025 season. Marisa DeStasio and Lilia Crouthamel will serve as assistant coaches for Lehigh along with Dani Gonzales who returns for her second season with the Mountain Hawks.
DeStasio comes to Lehigh from Monmouth, where she spent the last eight seasons on staff, including the last three as the Hawks' associate head coach. During her time in New Jersey, DeStasio helped Monmouth to back-to-back MAAC titles and NCAA Tournament appearances, the first two in program history, in 2018 and 2019.
Prior to her time at Monmouth, DeStasio spent six seasons as head coach at Muhlenberg College, where she posted a 131-99-1 overall record (.569 winning percentage) and a 65-31 mark (.677) in Centennial Conference Play.
At Muhlenberg, DeStasio led the Mules to a conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth in her first season and later won back-to-back regular season titles in 2013 and 2014.
A Bethlehem native, DeStasio has Patriot League experience from a three-year stint at Lafayette from 2007-09 where she helped lead the Leopards to back-to-back appearances in the championship round of the Patriot League Tournament in 2008 and 2009. DiStasio's first coaching position was at MacMurray College in Illinois in 2006.
DeStasio is a graduate of Freedom High School and was a four-year starter at Binghamton and was a second team All-America East honoree as a utility player in 2003. She graduated from Binghamton in 2005 with a degree in human development and added a master's in athletic coaching education from West Virginia in 2008.
Crouthamel takes on an assistant coaching role for the Mountain Hawks after working with the program as an administrative assistant during the 2024 season.
Another Lehigh Valley native, Crouthamel is from Allentown and graduated from Salisbury High School. She came to Lehigh following a five-year playing career at Penn State. An outfielder, Crouthamel appeared in 199 career games for the Nittany Lions, starting 150, including all 98 over her final two seasons.
Crouthamel recorded 64 career hits for Penn State, including 20 extra base hits, while scoring 45 runs and driving in 41. She was a three-time Academic Big Ten honoree and was named to Big Ten All-Defensive Team in 2022. Crouthamel was also named an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2023.
Crouthamel graduated from Penn State with a degree in marketing.
David Troyan, who served as Lehigh's volunteer assistant over the last three seasons, will transition into a new role of Sports Performance coach. This transition will allow Troyan, who works as a women's college basketball official, to focus on those responsibilities during the early season.
