BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf program will be undergoing a transition this summer with the departure of head coach Mary Kate Lynch for a position with the United States Golf Association.
Â
Lynch spent the last seven seasons as Lehigh's head women's golf coach, while also serving in a dual role with the Athletics Partnership. In total, Lynch spent nine seasons at Lehigh, serving as an assistant coach and then interim head coach in 2011-12 and then returning to Lehigh as an assistant coach and as an events coordinator with the partnership.
Â
In her time as head coach, Lynch led the Mountain Hawks to three team tournament titles, most recently the 2023 SMSU Spring Classic.
Â
Lynch coached four players to a total of seven All-Patriot League honors, including Reagan Jahn '19, who owns the lowest competitive round and 54-hole tournament totals and Madison Pineda '25, who was the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and a three-time all-league performer. Pineda and Yuki Zhu '26 earned All-Patriot League honors this past season as Lehigh finished third at the Patriot League Championship for the second consecutive season.
Â
Off the course, Lynch's teams ranked at or near the top of Lehigh's Athletics Department in terms of team GPA. Jahn and Pineda earned spots on the Academic All-Patriot League team with Lynch's players regularly being recognized as WGCA All-American Scholars.
Â
Along with her coaching work, Lynch worked with the Athletics Partnership, first as events coordinator and then as a partnership representative. She served as a member of Lehigh's 50 Years of Women's Athletics committee and was active in the planning and executing of Lehigh's National Girls and Women's Sports Day celebrations, as well as three Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies over the last 18 months.
Â
A search for the women's golf head coaching position will begin shortly.
