Lehigh Looks To Defend Title At 2024 MARC Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's rowing team will be competing in the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) championship this weekend in Mercer, New Jersey. The men's varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and novice four boats will all be competing on Sunday.

Last season, the Mountain Hawks claimed the program's first-ever MARC championship after finishing in first place with a time of 6:13.5 in the final race. The men's second varsity eight lineup also performed well at the event, finishing in second place with a time of 6:22.5.

The first team to hit the water for Lehigh on Sunday will be the varsity four at 8:40 a.m. The Mountain Hawks will face the likes of Catholic, George Washington and St. Mary's in their heat.

Next up, Lehigh's varsity eight will compete against Stockton, WAC, Bucknell and Villanova in heat 2 at 9:10 a.m. The second varsity eight will follow, racing against Villanova, George Washington and Bucknell.

Finally, Lehigh's novice four will take on George Washington, Stockton, MSOE, two F&M boats and WAC. The novice race will be the only one of its kind, with the winner taking home the top prize for that boat.

The varsity four final will take place at 12:40 p.m. while the second varsity eight final and varsity eight final races will occur at 1:10 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. respectively.
