Â
Sward's two-run triple in the fourth inning helped stake Lehigh to a 5-0 lead and the Mountain Hawks never looked back on the way to their 16th consecutive win. Lehigh is now 26-14 overall and 12-0 in the Patriot League.
Â
Lehigh was held without a hit through the first two innings before Sward delivered a one-out single through the left side in the third. A Lafayette error moved Sward to third with one out, and Sward scored the first run of the game on a ground out by first-year Gracie Smith. Lehigh added a second run in the frame when senior Brooke Cannon beat out a single to shortstop, allowing graduate student Josie Charles to score.
Â
Sward came up again in the fourth with runners on second and third, and lifted a ball over the lead of Leopard left fielder Paige Sandidge that went all the way into the corner for a two-run triple. Charles then brought Sward home with a ground out to give Lehigh a 5-0 lead.

Lafayette (4-30, 1-11 PL) scored its first run of the series in the sixth inning on three straight hits, capped by Katie Harrington's RBI single. Young settled down to retire the next three batters, keeping Lehigh up by five while stranding two in scoring position. Lafayette's run snapped a 27 inning scoreless streak by Lehigh pitching.
Â
The Mountain Hawks pulled a run back in the home sixth on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by sophomore Sydney Parlett.
Â
Young got the first out of the seventh before giving way to senior Ansley Dambach, who needed just two pitches to close out the victory.
Â
One day after tossing her second career no-hitter, Young won her ninth straight decision. She allowed a run on six hits over 6.1 innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
Â
Prior to Sunday's game Lehigh honored its four-member senior class that includes Cannon, Dambach, Young and catcher Amanda Greaney.
Â
The Mountain Hawks will host Saint Joseph's Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in a non-league contest at Leadership Park. Lehigh's next league series will be at Army West Point Apr. 27-28.
