BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh softball heads to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Saturday to take on Marist in a non-league doubleheader with first pitch for game one set for 1 p.m.
Following their 11-3 win against Drexel on Wednesday, the Mountain Hawks head to New York on a 10-game winning streak. The Mountain Hawks are on their bye week from Patriot League play, where they have started with nine consecutive wins. First-year Holly Lovett and juniors Rory Dudley and Julia Mrochko all hit their third home runs of the season. Dudley's home run was a three-run shot that gave the Mountain Hawks the lead for good at 6-3. She finished with four RBIs to lead Lehigh in Philadelphia.Â
Graduate student Emily Cimino drove in Lehigh's first run of the day on Wednesday and leads Lehigh with 23 RBIs. Dudley is up to second on the team with 21. First-year Peyton Sward continues to lead Lehigh with a .386 batting average.
Three pitchers combined to limit Drexel to three runs on four hits. First-year Maddy Clark earned her first career victory with three scoreless innings of relief. Â
Marist is coming off a doubleheader split against Siena, Tuesday in Loudonville, New York. The Red Foxes lost the first game 2-1 but recovered with a 10-2 victory in the second game. Wednesday's series finale was canceled.
Marist is 26-11 on the season and 8-3 in conference play.
