
Army Open Highlighted By Stagliano’s Fourth All-Time Mark In The Javelin

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Lehigh track and field team opened outdoor competition at the Army Open on Friday and Saturday at West Point, N.Y. Junior Greg Stagliano's PR and fourth all-time mark in the javelin (62.84m) earned him first place as 16 Mountain Hawks competed across all event groups.
THROWS:
Junior Sharan Shankar and sophomore Joe Nowakowski picked up PRs in the hammer throw with 44.38m and 41.29m, respectively. Following suit behind Stagliano's PR in the javelin, junior Hunter Rodarmel took fourth with a PR of 57.60m.
Senior Karina Roze kicked off the outdoor season with a fourth place throw in the women's javelin, earning a 33.87m mark.
JUMPS:
Junior Casey Talamini-Kelemen was the lone jumper for Lehigh, winning the triple jump with 11.50m and placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.10m.
SPRINTS:
In the 200m, junior Patrez Thomas started the season off with a PR of 22.61, good for fourth place. First-year Kasey White took fourth in both the 100m and 200m, clocking in at 13.00 and 26.22, respectively. Coming in behind White, sophomore Amber Barrios claimed fifth in the 200m with 26.74. Barrios went on to take second place in the 400m hurdles with a mark of 1:05.02.
DISTANCE/MID-DISTANCE:
Junior Savannah Beavers claimed second in the 3000m steeplechase with 11:08.57.
The Mountain Hawks are back in action next weekend with the team splitting its weekend between the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, Va. on Friday and the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia on Saturday.
