
Klebe Named Champion In 800m And Earns School Record As Lehigh Wraps Up Patriot League Championships

BOSTON - The final day of Patriot League Championships was highlighted by sophomore Abby Klebe winning and setting a new school record in the 800m, as the Lehigh women's track and field team placed fifth overall.

Klebe's record–breaking time of 2:08.45 earned her the title while securing 10 points for the Mountain Hawks.

Lehigh's distance medley relay squad of Klebe, senior Simone Davey, junior Lauryn Heskin and senior Lindsay MacLellan picked up four points with a fifth place finish of 11:58.75

Senior Christina Yakaboski landed sixth in the mile with a PR and second all-time mark of 4:41.68. In the 3000m, Yakaboski went on to secure another PR, crossing the finish line in 9:49.26.

Sophomore Gianna Mangili took sixth in the 60m finals, clocking in at 7.73 and picking up three points. In the 400m, senior Ashley Struck took third place with 55.35.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of sophomore Grace Kennedy, junior Svea Wickelgren, junior Stephanie Webb and first-year Kasey White took fifth and logged a new school record of 3:52.19.

After a strong indoor rookie campaign, first-year Avery Dowkus wrote her name on Lehigh's all-time list, earning eighth all-time in the shot put with a throw of 13.06m.

In the high jump senior Kerry Perna finished tied for fourth with a 1.60m jump.

Navy swept both the men's and women's team championships with 242.5 points and 188, respectively.
