Lehigh Readies For Patriot League Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After preparing all year, Lehigh men's swimming and diving is just one day away from the 2024 Patriot League Championships, starting on Wednesday and ending on Saturday at Navy's LeJeune Hall. Â
The Mountain Hawks are 1-7 this season, having beaten Patriot League foe Lafayette. Although he didn't land on an all-league team last season, Ben Kisker took down the school record in the 200-yard backstroke (1:47.56) at last year's Patriot League Championships. The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Elvin Lee, Tim Norris, Connor Goodyear and Alex Patti set a school record at Patriots last season, recording a time of 6:37.21.Â
Wednesday will mark the start of the championships, but the only events the men will compete in are the 200-yard relay finals and the 800-yard freestyle relays. Thursday will feature the one-meter diving trials, with Jack Grotke being the lone Mountain Hawk competing. After the one-meter dive, there will also be the 500-yard freestyle, the 200-yard IM final, the 50-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle.Â
Friday's Patriots will be kicked off with the 100-yard butterfly, followed by the 400-yard IM, the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard freestyle relays.Â
The final day of the Patriot League Championships will feature the 1,650 freestyle, the 200-yard backstrokes, the 100-yard freestyles, the 200-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard freestyle relays.Â
Two Mountain Hawks are seeded in the top 20 in the 50-yard freestyle. Norris is 18th, and Aaaron Williams is 20th. Williams is also right outside of the top 10 in the 100–yard butterfly, as he comes into Patriots seeded 12th. Junior Jack Devilbiss is 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke. Senior Miles Cox is 20th in the 200-yard butterfly.Â
