
Lehigh Ends Season With 2-1 Loss to Colgate In Patriot League Quarterfinals

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Fifth-seeded Lehigh men's soccer suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to fourth-seeded Colgate in the Patriot League Quarterfinals Saturday night at Breyer-Field '76 as Blake Pipkin netted the game-winning goal for the Raiders in the 107th minute.
"It's been a really good season for us," said head coach Dean Koski. "Getting to the tournament was one of the goals for this team, and I'm really proud of of all the guys and our seniors. We certainly stepped forward with this program. I thougtht the effort was good tonight."
 The Mountain Hawks end their season with a 6-10-3 overall record and a 4-4-1 PL record. Tonight's game marked the first time Lehigh played in the Patriot League Tournament since 2021.
The first half was a defensive battle with both teams deadlocked at zero after the first 45 minutes. Junior midfielder Yusef Gueye opened the scoring in the 64th minute on a breakaway after the Raiders lost control of the ball and Gueye was there to corral the loose ball.
Colgate's Timmy Donovan netted the equalizer on a header in the 84th minute after the Raiders were awarded a free kick. Both teams could not find the go-ahead goal in regulation as they headed to overtime. After the first 10 minutes, Lehigh and Colgate were still deadlocked at one before the Raiders netted the game-winning goal in double overtime.Â
Senior goalkeeper Blake Koski finished with three saves and Colgate's Oliver Townend recorded three saves.
Colgate held a 12-7 advantage in shots and both teams recorded five shots on goal. The Raiders also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
