Men's Cross Country Gears Up For The Rivalry Vs. Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's cross country team is set to compete in its third race of the season on after competing twice two weekends ago. The Mountain Hawks will make a short trip east to Easton for the latest installment of The Rivalry against Lafayette College on Saturday.
One of the most storied rivalries in all of college athletics continues following last year's 17-40 victory for Lehigh over Lafayette. Seven runners finished in the top ten for Lehigh, including first and second place finishes. The Mountain Hawks have come out on top over the Leopards in each of the last 23 meetings, dating all the way back to 2000 and lead the all-time series 62-33-1.
The season began for the Mountain Hawks on September 1 at their very own Lehigh Invitational. Lehigh placed third out of nine teams competing on the weekend and finished two runners in the top ten. Juniors Aidan Lynch and Kevin Harvey finished fifth and ninth respectively with times of 18:16.1 and 18:24.0.
While the Mountain Hawks competed hard at the Lehigh Invitational, the team treated the following day's meet at the Harry Lang Invitational as more of a way to preview the course. The race was held at Colgate, which is also the site of this year's Patriot League championship. Lehigh ran as a pack, finishing in ninth place with every runner crossing the finish line in order after another.
Saturday's meet will be run on Lafayette's campus in Easton, Pa. with a scheduled start time of 10:45 a.m.
