Three Mountain Hawks Named WGCA All-American Scholars

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three members of the Lehigh women's golf program were recognized as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) earlier this month. Recent graduate Iris Shin is now a four-time honoree, while junior Meghna Grover and sophomore Madison Pineda were recognized for the second consecutive season.

Lehigh's three selections bring the program's total to 20 in six seasons under head coach Mary Kate Lynch.

Shin graduated in May with a 3.84 GPA in molecular biology, capped with a 4.0 GPA in the spring 2023 semester. She capped her career with a career-low round of 75 in the opening round of the Patriot League Championship.

Grover holds a 3.66 GPA majoring in industrial and systems engineering. She competed in five tournaments, including the Patriot League Championship, and led the Mountain Hawks at the Lehigh Invitational.

Pineda owns a 3.63 GPA as a bioengineering major. She earned All-Patriot League honors for the second straight year, tying for seventh at the Patriot League Championship, and added Academic All-Patriot League laurels for her academic success.

A total of 1,401 golfers across multiple divisions were named All-American Scholars. To be eligible, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade point average better than 3.50 and must have played in at least 50 percent of the institution's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

Lehigh's honorees comprise three of the 12 Patriot League women's golfers honored by the WGCA.
