
Mountain Hawks Set For Weekend Series at Colgate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – It's back to action and back to league play for the Lehigh softball team as the Mountain Hawks head to Hamilton, N.Y. for a three-game series at Colgate. A doubleheader is set for Saturday at noon at Eaton Street Softball Complex, followed by a single game Sunday at noon. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Lehigh had its Patriot League bye last weekend. The Mountain Hawks dropped two out of three games at home to Seton Hall, winning the second game of Friday's doubleheader 4-3 behind three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. First-year Sydney Parlett delivered the game-winning sacrifice fly after sophomore Rory Dudley tied the game with her third RBI of the day.

The Mountain Hawks are 28-9 overall and 6-0 in Patriot League play with sweeps against Lafayette and Bucknell in the first two weekends of league play.

Senior Josie Charles leads the Mountain Hawks with a .440 batting average and 51 hits. Graduate student Carley Barjaktarovich is up to .368 and has 50 hits on the season. Senior Emily Cimino leads with 30 RBIs to go with a .336 average. First-year Lily Owens has scored a team-leading 30 runs and is hitting .302. Cimino and Owens are tied for the team lead with six home runs.

Junior Katelyn Young tops Lehigh's pitching staff with a 14-4 record and 1.97 ERA. She has struck out 90 in 117 innings of work. First-year Chloe Hess has fanned 79 in 94 innings and holds a 2.01 ERA to go along with a 9-4 record. Junior Ansley Dambach threw a strong outing to earn Lehigh's lone win in the Seton Hall series.

Colgate enters the weekend series at 15-19 overall. The Raiders are 5-1 in Patriot League play, winning 2-of-3 at Bucknell and then sweeping Holy Cross at home last weekend. Colgate split a non-league doubleheader with Cornell on Wednesday, dropping the opener 7-1 and winning the nightcap 8-3.

Offensively, the Raiders are led by Adrienne Nardone (.327, 6 HR, 25 RBI) and Kara Fusco (.320, 5 HR, 29 RBI). Bailey Misken is the top pitcher for Colgate, throwing 102.2 innings and going 7-8 with a 4.02 ERA.

Lehigh leads the all-time series versus Colgate 89-31. The Mountain Hawks won three of the four meetings last season, taking two out of three at Leadership Park during the regular season and then eliminating the Raiders 5-1 in game five of the Patriot League Tournament.

Following this weekend's series, Lehigh will return to Leadership Park for its next four games, beginning with a single game against Villanova, April 19 at 3:30 p.m.
