Pineda Paces Mountain Hawks at Lady Bison Invitational

BALTIMORE – Sophomore Madison Pineda posted a top 10 finish to lead the Lehigh women's golf team at Howard's Lady Bison Invitational, which wrapped-up Tuesday at Baltimore Country Club. Pineda finished seventh overall to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks, who finished fifth in a nine-team field with a final score of 935 (307-320-308).

Pineda's final total was 227 (77-75-75). She made four birdies in her final round 75 and totaled eight birdies plus an eagle over her 54 holes.

First-year Yuki Zhu was Lehigh's next-highest finisher as she tied for 18th place at 234 (75-79-80). Zhu carded one birdie in her final round.

Senior Hannah Foster and first-year Evelyn Wong tied for 27th place at 238. Wong made two birdies in a final round 75 after shooting 79 and 84 on Monday. Foster went 76-82-80 and made her second eagle of the tournament in Tuesday's final round, this one on the par 4 16th hole.

A final round 78 lifted senior Iris Shin to 38th place at 246 (82-86-78). Shin made one birdie in her third round on Tuesday.

Georgetown captured the team title at 895 (299-305-291), 10 strokes better than host and runner-up Howard University.

Howard's Kendall Jackson was the individual medalist at even par 216 (70-75-71). She defeated the co-runners up by four strokes.

The Mountain Hawks will next shift focus to the Patriot League Championship, April 21-23 at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Va.
