Lehigh Wins Two Sunday To Complete Rivalry Sweep

Senior Josie Charles led the way with five hits and three runs scored over the two games, while first-year Sydney Parlett drove a team-high three runs in Sunday's twin bill. Pitchers Katelyn Young and Chloe Hess both earned victories in the circle and saved each-others wins on Sunday.
Lehigh has now won five straight games to move to 22-6 on the season. Lafayette falls to 2-20-1.
Parlett put Lehigh in front in game one with a two-run, pinch-hit single in the top of the fourth inning. Lehigh then extended its lead in the fifth when senior Emily Cimino's second double of the game brought home graduate student Carley Barjaktarovich. Cimino scored Lehigh's fourth run on an infield RBI single by junior Brooke Cannon.

Paige Sandidge brought Lafayette within 4-3 after five innings with a three-run home run off of Hess in the home fifth.
Lehigh tacked on a run in the seventh when Charles singled, took second on an error, and then scored on another error following a Cannon single.
Hess went the first six innings of game one in the circle, before giving way to Young, who worked around a two-out infield single to shut the door on the opener.
Hess improved to 7-2 allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Young struck out one to earn her first save.
Barjaktarovich, Cannon and Charles all went 3-for-4 in game one to lead Lehigh at the plate.
In game two, Lehigh pushed a pair of runs across in the second inning as junior Amanda Greaney doubled home Charles and then Parlett singled home pinch runner Crysta Duenas. The Mountain Hawks added two more in the third as sophomore Rory Dudley beat out a double play ball to earn an RBI. Dudley later scored on a single to center by Charles.

Cimino scored all the way from first on a single to right center by Cannon in the fifth inning to give the Mountain Hawks a 5-0 lead.
Lafayette battled back in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two runs on a Harlie Bickett two-run home run and two more on a pair of Lehigh wild pitches to get within 5-4.
Hess came out of the bullpen to get the final two outs of the fifth and strand the tying run at first base. She retired the Leopards in order in the sixth and after issuing a leadoff walk in the seventh, got Sandidge to fly out to right before getting Kaili Reitano to pop into a game-ending double play.

Lehigh turned three double plays with Young working out of trouble in the third and fourth innings with the help of twin-killings.
Both teams had nine hits in game two. Charles and Parlett led Lehigh with two apiece.
Young allowed three runs on eight hits in 4.1 innings with two walks and four strikeouts. Junior Ansley Dambach faced two batters and then Hess came in with 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with a walk and a strikeout.
The Mountain Hawks will return to Leadership Park for their next five games beginning with a Wednesday doubleheader versus Penn. First pitch for game one is set for 2 p.m.
