Lehigh to Take On Navy Wednesday Night at Stabler Arena

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball squad is back in Bethlehem to host Navy on Wednesday night in Stabler Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.

Lehigh (14-11, 9-5 PL) will enter Wednesday night's matchup on a two-game losing streak, falling to both Colgate (81-53) and Loyola (Md.) (91-82). In their last contest, sophomore Keith Higgins Jr. was one of four Mountain Hawks to finish in double-figures, leading the team with 23, shooting 70 percent (9-for-14) from the field with three three-pointers and turned in 18 second-half points. Whitney-Sidney contributed 18 points for the Mountain Hawks and scored 16 of his points from the foul line, finishing 16-for-18 on the night. He also led the team with seven assists while adding five rebounds. Junior Dominic Parolin tossed in 14 points, finishing 7-for-8 from the field (87.5 percent) with three boards, an assist and a steal as senior Evan Taylor rounded out double-digit scorers with 13 points and team-leading seven rebounds and two assists.

Three Mountain Hawks are averaging at least 13 points per game, led by Higgins Jr.'s 14.8 points a game. He also averages 2.8 rebounds per contest and 1.8 assists. Taylor is producing 14.4 points per game and leads the team with 6.6 rebounds per contest while Whitney-Sidney is scoring 13.3 points per outing, and a team-leading 35 steals and 2.3 assists per game, along with 4.9 rebounds and 4.6 rebounds a game.

Navy (15-11, 8-6 PL) is entering Sunday's game with a record of 7-7 on the road this season and are riding a four-game winning streak overall, including wins over Army (70-53), Bucknell (71-65), Holy Cross (86-68) and Lafayette (53-34). The Midshipmen's last loss was against American (73-69), which snapped a three-game win streak. The Midshipmen are led by Daniel Deaver, who is scoring 12.8 points per contest, bringing down 6.5 rebounds a game and leads Navy is assists with 75. Tyler Nelson is averaging 12.5 points a game while leading the squad in made three-pointers (52), steals (30) and blocked shots (20). Rounding out double-digit scorers is Sean Yoder with 11.2 points to go along with 5.3 rebounds, 67 assists, 40 three-pointers and 20 steals.

Navy leads the overall series with a record of 53-35 and the two squads are 5-5 in the last 10 meetings. Lehigh claimed both meetings last season, sweeping the Midshipmen in the regular season, including overcoming a 17-point deficit inside Stabler Arena on Feb. 2, 2022. The Mountain Hawks took down Navy 78-73 inside Alumni Hall in January for three consecutive wins against the Midshipmen and Lehigh looks to make it four straight on Wednesday night.
