Rowing Shows Out In Fall Finale Vs. Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh rowing concluded its fall season on Saturday, taking on in-state rival Bucknell in multiple races. Women's rowing sent three boats to compete with the Bison, defeating their Patriot League rival in two of the three races.

"Energy was really high today, we came ready to race," said junior coxswain Julia McDougall. "We went off the line fast and were able to carry that momentum to finish the season well. Really proud of the team today. Fly Hawks!"

The women's varsity 8 put on a solid display against Bucknell, crossing the finish line in 6:35.5 compared to the Bison's 6:49.36. In addition, the women's varsity second team also won their matchup against Bucknell, nearly defeating them by less than two seconds (6:43.64 to 6:45.54).

In the final women's race of the day, Lehigh sent one boat out against A, B, and C teams from Bucknell. The Bison A team finished first with a time of 6:53.10 while Lehigh's boat came in second at 7:00.07 amongst the four.

"Lehigh came ready to row," said first-year Catherine Yazdanyar. "Today really showed that, no matter the conditions, Lehigh keeps the energy and intensity. We have grit and we show up. Really proud of this team and the consistent work everyone has put in this season. Fly Hawks!"

In addition, Lehigh men's rowing also competed against Bucknell on Saturday, however no official times were recorded.

"Even through the cold weather, the mens 2V pushed through," said junior Delaney Donnelly. "So proud of everyone for ending the season right. Go Lehigh. Fly hawks. See you for winter season!"

Saturday's races marked the end of the fall season for the Mountain Hawks, who will now set their sights on preparing for the spring season.
