Volleyball To Host 'Dig Pink' Game Vs. Navy, Travel North To Army

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh volleyball finally returns to Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall on Friday after going on a three-match road swing. The Mountain Hawks will play host to the Navy Midshipmen at 7 p.m. on Friday followed by an away trip up north to face Army West Point on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Mountain Hawks will be hosting their 'Dig Pink' match on Friday against Navy to help spread awareness and raise donations to fight breast cancer. The link to donate to the cause can be found here.
Lehigh (9-8, 1-5 PL) traveled south for road matches at Loyola and American last Friday and Saturday. The Mountain Hawks dropped their first match to the Greyhounds by a score of 3-1 and then narrowly fell in straights sets to the Eagles, losing each set by a mere three points or less. Junior Kyleigh Brown reached a career milestone against Loyola, recording her 1,000th career dig. Junior Megan Schulte currently leads Lehigh and sits in second in the Patriot League with 232 kills (3.63 per set). Junior Makena Smith leads the team with 401 assists while junior Emily Stewart sits in first for Lehigh and second in the Patriot League with 72 blocks.

Navy (11-3, 3-2 PL) split their two matches last weekend in Patriot League play, defeating Bucknell in five sets on Friday while dropping their next competition to Lafayette in five sets on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks hold a 29-39 all-time record against the Midshipmen dating back to 1980. Navy's kills leader is Jordan Llewellyn with 177, Averi Miller leads the team with 508 assists, Hannah Hoover has recorded a team-high 196 digs and Maggie Bodman leads Navy in blocks with 44.

Army (8-7, 5-1 PL) also enters the weekend following a 1-1 showing from the weekend prior. The Black Knights started off strong on Friday, defeating Holy Cross in straight sets to get to 5-0 in league play. However, their perfect record wouldn't last long, as they would fall to the Colgate Raiders 3-0 the following night. Savannah Bray leads Army with 128 kills, Diana Ethridge's 433 assists are a team-high, Riley Parchment leads the way for Army with 226 digs and Alyssa Lukasik is the team leader in blocks with 51.

After facing the Black Knights to conclude their weekend on Sunday, Lehigh will host Army the following Saturday, October 14 at Grace Hall.
