BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Making a tremendous impact in the classroom in addition to her impact on the court this season, Lehigh women's basketball sophomore Mackenzie Kramer has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 selection. She becomes the program's fifth different student-athlete to earn the honor and the first since Hannah Hedstrom in 2020.
To be eligible for the award, a player must have a 3.30 GPA and played in 50 percent of the team's games on the season. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District 2 includes schools from Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia and the District of Columbia in addition to Pennsylvania.
This year, Kramer is the only representative from the Patriot League on the list and joins a District 2 team that includes former Bucknell forward, current Drexel forward Tessa Brugler, West Virginia's KK Deans, Penn State's Makenna Marisa and Eastern Kentucky's Alice Recanati.
Kramer holds a cumulative 4.00 GPA in Population Health and is the only student-athlete in the district with a 4.0 grade point average.
She has been a flat-out scorer for the Mountain Hawks this season, currently the Patriot League's third-leading scorer at 16.0 points per game with 88 3-pointers, leading the league in both 3-point field goal percentage (42.3 percent) as well as 3-pointers made per game (3.3), a category she has paced from the very first game of the season. She is also among the top 10 in several categories regarding 3-point shooting including third in total 3-pointers made (88), fourth in 3-pointes made per game (3.26) and eighth in total 3-pointers attempted (208).
The Mountain Hawks have two regular season games before the start of the Patriot League Tournament, taking on Lafayette Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Stabler Arena for Senior Night and The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.
Kramer is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, where first, second and third-team Academic All-Americans will be announced in mid-March.
