Mountain Hawks Continue Fall Play at Saint Joseph's Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team will be in action for the third consecutive weekend as the Mountain Hawks will take part in the three-day Saint Joseph's Invitational, beginning Friday on the courts of the SJU Tennis Complex at the Maguire Campus and on Finnesey Courts.
The invitational will feature four singles flights and two doubles flights. Nine schools are participating, with Delaware, Drexel, Jefferson, Mary Washington, Morgan State, NJIT and Villanova joining Lehigh and host Saint Joseph's.
Lehigh hosted its fall invitational last weekend as the Mountain Hawks competed against Fairfield, Howard and Monmouth in hidden duals. Freshman Marc Blekhman and senior Gary Fishkin led the way, going 3-0 on the weekend in singles play. Collectively, the Mountain Hawks went 6-5 on the weekend in doubles action and 14-10 in singles action.
In its opening fall event, Lehigh won a pair of draws at the Villanova Invitational with Blekhman teaming with senior Zack Elliott to win the Blue Draw and sophomore Jordan Paul and junior Michael Bukhalo emerged victorious in the White Draw.
This weekend, Blekhman and Elliott will compete in the top singles flight, Paul and junior Matt Kleiman will compete in flight 2. Fishkin will represent the Brown and White in flight 3, while flight 4 features juniors Jeremy Learner and Steven Nazaroff, plus Bukhalo and senior Andrew Nakhjavan.
Blekhman and Elliott will team up in the top doubles flight along with Kleiman and Learner. Fishkin and Nakhjavan and Bukhalo and Paul will be Lehigh's doubles teams in flight 2.
Following the Saint Joseph's Invitational, Lehigh will send players to the ITA Regionals, Oct. 14-19 in Philadelphia.
