Fishkin, Blekhman Unbeaten In Singles As Lehigh Hosts Fall Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A busy two days of tennis action saw the Lehigh men's tennis team host the Lehigh Invitational on the Ulrich Varsity Courts, with action wrapping up on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks squared off against Fairfield, Howard and Monmouth in a hidden dual format with four doubles matches and eight singles matches against each visiting team on the weekend.
Collectively, the Mountain Hawks went 6-5 on the weekend in doubles action and 14-10 in singles action. Lehigh had the most success against Howard, sweeping all four doubles matches on Saturday and all eight singles matches on Sunday.
Freshman Marc Blekhman and senior Gary Fishkin both went 3-0 in singles play on the weekend. Lehigh began the weekend by going 3-5 versus Monmouth in singles with Blekhman, Fiskhin and junior Jeremy Learner picking up the Lehigh victories. After sweeping Howard in doubles, the Mountain Hawks went 3-5 against Fairfield in singles, with wins from Blekhman, junior Matt Kleiman and Fishkin.
Sunday began with Lehigh dropping four doubles matches to Fairfield before sweeping Howard in singles. In its final competition of the weekend, the Mountain Hawks won 2-of-3 doubles matches against Monmouth, with Blekhman teaming up with senior Zack Elliott for a win and Kleiman and Learner also posting a victory.

The Mountain Hawks continue their fall slate next weekend when they head to the Saint Joseph's Invitational, Sept. 24-26 in Merion Station, Pa.
