Mountain Hawks Add Game at Maryland Tuesday Night on BTN

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball team will return to the court one day early this week, as the Mountain Hawks will travel to the University of Maryland on Tuesday for an 8:30 p.m. showdown against the Terrapins on Big Ten Network. The announcement was made on Sunday night. The game replaces Maryland's original home date against Loyola Maryland, which was cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols within Loyola's program. The Mountain Hawks also add a game after their Dec. 18 contest at Syracuse was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols with the Orange.

Please note: enhanced health and safety protocols at Maryland, as also announced on Sunday. Lehigh's originally-scheduled home game vs. Eastern University on Wednesday, Dec. 29 remains on as-scheduled. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.

A preseason top 25 team, Maryland currently stands 6-4 on the season, most recently beating No. 20 Florida, 70-68 on Dec. 12. Maryland leads the all-time series with Lehigh, 2-0, with the sides most recently meeting on Nov. 23, 2007 – a 72-51 Terrapins' victory. The Terps are the Mountain Hawks' second Big Ten opponent of the season, after Lehigh took Rutgers to overtime in the season opener.
