BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball team is scheduled to take part in the 2020 Tip-Off Tournament in the upcoming season, as announced by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday. The Mountain Hawks are one of eight teams in the tournament, which includes a single game at Rhode Island, along with games at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, the 22nd.
Â
"We at Lehigh look forward to participating in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in November," said Lehigh head coach Brett Reed. "It is an honor to be a part of an event that the storied Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame hosts. It should be a great experience for our team and fans and will provide the opportunity to face quality competition in preparation for the remainder of our season."
Â
Lehigh is part of the "Springfield Bracket" which features other mid-major programs Albany, Long Island and Quinnipiac. The Mountain Hawks are also scheduled to play a game as part of the tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Rhode Island.
Â
In that weekend at the Mohegan Sun Arena, the Mountain Hawks will square off with Quinnipiac on Saturday as part of a quadruple header. The winner will face the winner of Albany and Long Island on Sunday, with the losers squaring off in a consolation game.
Â
The Mountain Hawks fought through some early struggles in 2019-20, but never quit and finished the season 6-3 over their final nine games. It included wins over three of the four eventual Patriot League semifinal teams, as the future looks bright for Lehigh men's basketball.
