Men's soccer seniors receive Patriot League Championship rings

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, a special moment occurred for the Lehigh men's soccer senior class, who are just days away from receiving their diplomas as graduates of Lehigh University.
In coordination between head coach Dean Koski and his coaching staff with the parents of the Class of 2020, the eight seniors who helped lead the Mountain Hawks to their third Patriot League Championship in program history received their rings in surprise fashion, amongst their teammates on a Zoom conference call.
"We're excited to gather and extend our deepest appreciation for the seniors and all that they have done for the program over their four years," Koski told the team. "Certainly we feel very fortunate, given the circumstances, that we're the only program to have won a Patriot League Championship this year at Lehigh.
"We couldn't be more proud of the seniors and to give them their rings now is a huge, huge gift. A big thank you goes out to the parents and Ryan Hess for making this work behind the scenes. We felt the seniors deserved to get their rings first and I think everyone would agree they are the reason we won a championship."
The senior class includes Ian Marshall, Zarin Tuten, Nolan Coulter, Tommy Dokho, Matthew Peralta, fifth-year Alex Greene, student manager/coach Alec Koski and captain Will Smith.
"Coming into Lehigh, I didn't really know what to expect," said Smith. "But with my core class of seniors the past four years, it's been really cool to see us progress throughout the years. It's been an awesome four years and is something that a lot of people don't get to say that they've been able to play Division I soccer. It's been a great experience and nice to close it out with one of these rings."
The rest of the team will receive their rings at a later date.
The Mountain Hawks lose eight seniors who mean a great deal to the program in 2020, but have a group of underclassmen and an impressive incoming freshman class that will put them right back into the mix for a fourth Patriot League title.
