BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh men's track and field team will send 14 qualifying athletes to the IC4A Championships, held in Princeton, N.J. The two-day event begins Saturday with action concluding for the Mountain Hawks on Sunday afternoon. All qualifying athletes were able to use times from both the indoor and outdoor seasons to enter the IC4A Outdoor Championships.

Kicking things off for Lehigh will be sophomore Anastasios Mouzakis, who will compete in the hammer throw at 10 a.m. Saturday. Mouzakis threw a personal-record 53.66m hammer at last weekend's Patriot League Championship, beating the IC4A-qualifying 52.50m mark and earning 10th place.

At 3 p.m. two Mountain Hawks will compete in the 800m. Freshman Nicholas Crociata and fifth year Kyle Kirk each qualified for IC4As after beating the 1:54.00 mark. Kirk finished 12th in the 800m at the Patriot League Championships last weekend, finishing the race in 1:53.54. Crociata's personal record in the 800m is 1:52.49, set at February's Indoor Patriot League Championships.

The action on the track continues for Lehigh at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, when sophomore Sean Brown and freshman Kyle Burke compete in the 1500m. Brown won a  Patriot League title in the 1500m last weekend, breaking Lehigh's school record with his 3:45.72 performance and beating the IC4A-qualifying time by over eight seconds. Burke qualified for the IC4As with a 3:55.76 performance at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted at Princeton, the same track where the IC4As will take place.

In the 3000m steeplechase, sophomore Nick Norton, fifth year John Tolbert and junior Kip Yegon are all slated to compete after beating the 9:22.00 mark. At last year's IC4A Championships, Yegon set a personal record in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing in 9:00.79, earning a fifth place finish. The 3000m steeplechase is slated to begin at 5 p.m.

Saturday's action concludes at 7 p.m. as sophomore Brad DeMassa, junior Jeffrey Kirshenbaum and sophomore Seth Slavin will compete in the 10,000m. Slavin set a personal record last weekend at the Patriot League Championships, finishing the 10,000m in 31:24.69 and beating the IC4A-qualifying time of 31:20.00 by over five seconds.

The action at IC4As continues Sunday, as pole vaulter junior Joey Kelly is slated to compete at noon. Kelly set a personal record at February's Indoor Patriot League Championships, earning a 5.10m mark, .25m above the 4.85m qualifying standard.

The final event for the Mountain Hawks is the 4x800m relay, which will begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Kirk, Burke, senior Kyle Berman and Brown will represent Lehigh on the relay team, which finished in fifth place at last weekend's Patriot League Championships with a time of 7:33.04. That time is almost 10 seconds faster than the IC4A qualifying time of 7:43.00.
