
Men's Track and Field to embark on another three meet weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh men's track and field team is traveling to three meets once again this weekend, with groups going to the Virginia Challenge at the University of Virginia, the Greyhound Invitational at Moravian College and the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University.
Three athletes on the men's team will head to Virginia, where events are set to begin at 9 a.m. Friday. Junior Kyle Sult is competing in the decathlon, which begins at 9:15 a.m. Last season, Sult placed fifth in the decathlon at the Patriot League Championships with a score of 5960 points.
Junior Joey Kelly is competing in the pole vault at the Virginia Challenge. Kelly finished first in the pole vault at the Fred Hardy Invitational earlier this season, earning a mark of 4.85m. Senior Ryan Givens is slated to compete in both the long jump and the high jump, which are both scheduled for Saturday.
The Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton begins Saturday with field events beginning at 10 a.m. Action begins on the track at 12:45 p.m. with the 1500m.
The Mountain Hawks have six runners competing in the elite heats of their respective events. Freshman Kyle Burke, freshman Nicholas Crociata, fifth year Kyle Kirk and junior Ryan Paradise are running in the elite 800m at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, with senior Kyle Berman and sophomore Sean Brown will competing in the 1500m elite race at 8:45 p.m.
Also competing at Princeton is junior Kip Yegon, racing the 3000m steeplechase. Last weekend, Yegon finished third overall at the Bison Outdoor Classic with a time of 9:04.08.
Lehigh is sending a contingent of sprinters and field athletes to the Greyhound Invitational, where action gets underway at 10 a.m. with the pole vault. Senior Max Jordan finished with a mark of 4.50m at last weekend's meet.
The Mountain Hawks' 4x400m relay team of senior Bart Bancewicz, Harrison Ernst, freshman Michael Nardelli and freshman Carter Schmalzle will also compete at Moravian Saturday. In throws, Senior Alexander Rodgers, sophomore Riley Lariviere and sophomore Anastasios Mouzakis will compete in both the shotput and discus.
